Martha SALTS, Batavia, dies

BATAVIA -- Martha J. SALTS, 94, died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Batavia with the Rev. Robert Connor officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield. Open visitation is at Campbell Funeral Chapel, Batavia. A memorial has been established to Mrs. SALTS' church.

Mrs. SALTS was born Aug. 22, 1890 in Jefferson County, the daughter of William and Margaret SISSON CRAWFORD. She spent most of her life in the Batavia community and had worked as a cook in the Batavia Public School for 14 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. In 1910, she married S. Guy SALTS, who died in 1942. Her parents, a son, two sisters and seven brothers also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
