OBITUARY
Daniel G. CHEZUM, who died at Glasgow September 16th, was born in Caroline Co., Md., October 22d, 1814. When nineteen years of age he removed to Ohio and a year later to Indiana. He was married in that state, September 7th, 1839, to Nancy J. RIDGEWAY, who survives him. They came to Iowa in 1840, and with the exception of six years in Missouri and two in Montana, have resided in this county since that time. Nine children were born to them, seven sons and two daughters. Two sons are dead, and the location of one, Squire C., is unknown, although he is supposed to have died in the mountains. Two sons, F.O. and Harvey C., live at Tacoma, Wash., two others, J.P. and Theodore S., in this county. One daughter, Mary M., lives in Van Buren County, while Maggie G. has her home in Union County. Mr. CHEZUM was stricken with paralysis eleven years ago, and has since been a constant sufferer. He joined the M.E. church when 16 years of age, and for many years was an active member.....
