Wilma J. MANNING

Wilma J. KIGER MANNING, 74, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 1993, at the Audubon Friendship Home in Audubon.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Mrs. MANNING was born Aug. 10, 1919, in Jefferson County, the daughter of John and Mae Lee HUDSON. In 1944, she married Carl B. KIGER, who died in 1961. She married Elmer MANNING in 1970 (sic. Dec. 31, 1970). He died in 1987. She had lived in the Audubon Friendship Home for the past five years and before that in the Fairfield and Ankeny communities. She had been employed at Fairfield Glove Co. and J.C. Penney Co. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles.

Surviving are two sons, Dean of Audubon, Dennis of Coon Rapids; five grandchildren; three sisters, Eva BROWN of Winfield, Pauline MEYER of Wayland and Irene THOMAS of New Broomfield, Mo. Her parents and brother, John, preceded her in death.

Married first to Carl Baldwin KIGER, then to Elmer MANNING. Buried with Carl B. KIGER. While her headstone uses the KIGER surname, her obituary uses her last married surname of MANNING. This entry will use the MANNING surname in deference to that being her last married surname.
