WILLIAMSON, L. Carl -- L. Carl WILLIAMSON, 81, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Glasgow, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at home.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery in rural Lockridge.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Glasgow Cemetery or Hospice of Central Iowa.

Mr. WILLIAMSON was born June 23, 1929, in Glasgow, the son of Edwin Lewis and Mary Mildred WILLIS WILLIAMSON. He married Lola A. SEPTER Feb. 15, 1950, in Mount Pleasant. She died Feb. 11, 1999.

Mr. WILLIAMSON attended Glasgow School until eighth grade when he stopped to help on the family farm. He farmed most of his life. He also had worked at Hayworth Motors and later at Hodson-McKim Motors. He also worked for McAllister Seed Company until retiring in 1994.

Mr. WILLIAMSON enjoyed woodworking, reading, feeding and watching the hummingbirds and squirrels, traveling, shooting clay pigeons and spending time with family. He also enjoyed genealogy and photography.

Survivors include three children, Darrell WILLIAMSON and wife Susan, Marilyn WILLIAMSON and Dorothy WILLIAMSON, all of Mount Pleasant; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Doris LAWRENCE of Mount Pleasant.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
