O.D. STUBBS, 77, DIES; FUNERAL IS TOMMORROW

Well Known Local Business Man Dies Sudden in Hospital

O.D. STUBBS (sic. Orsino D. STUBBS), well known 77 year old resident of Fairfield died suddenly at the Jefferson county hospital Saturday evening at 7:15. Mr. STUBBS had been a patient at the hospital since October 1st of this year. While he had been in failing health for some time, his condition was not considered as serious, and death came quite suddenly.

The funeral services will be held at the Murray funeral home tomorrow morning at 10:30. The rites will be in charge of the Fairfield B.P.O.E. (sic. ???) with burial in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. STUBBS is survived by one sister, Mrs. D. C. BRADLEY of Centerville. He also leaves two nephews William S. BRADLEY of Washington, D.C.; and Kenneth THORPE, a former resident of Fairfield, now in New York City. One niece, Mrs. John G. Woodin (sic. a/k/a WOODEN) of Des Moines also survives.

Mrs. BRADLEY and Mrs. WOODIN are in Fairfield at the present time.

Mr. STUBBS was married December 23, 1879. Mrs. STUBBS (sic. Alice Nancy STUBBS STUBBS, who died March 28, 1918) preceded him in death a number of years ago. One son, Rex died at the age of 16 years (sic. Rex Orsino STUBBS, May 11, 1888 - May 12, 1904). Twins had also died in infancy. Mr. STUBBS was born July 17, 1856.

Bert STUBBS, a brother, was for a number of years Secretary of the National French Draft Horse Association, with offices in Fairfield. O.D. STUBBS was office manager here in Fairfield, and after his brothers death was made secretary of the association. From the Fairfield office pedigrees were issued for horses in all parts of the United States and Canada. The organization was disbanded, however, a few years after the death of Bert STUBBS. Ted GARBER of Fairfield, assisted Mr. STUBBS in the duties of the office for a number of years.

Mr. STUBBS was one of Fairfield's well known business men having numerous interests in the city.
