FUNERAL OF MRS. O.D. STUBBS SATURDAY.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. O.D. STUBBS (sic. Orsino D. STUBBS) were held at the home on East Burlington street on Saturday afternoon at three o'clock and were largely attended by friends of the family. The services were in charge of the Rev. W.R. Kersey (sic. could be Kensey; microfilm image slightly smudged).

Alice N. STUBBS was a daughter of Jesse and Nancy BOYD STUBBS, and was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, March 12th, 1859. She was united in marriage with O.D. STUBBS of this city at Mt. Pleasant December 23, 1879. For three years after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. STUBBS made their home in Mt. Pleasant and then moved to Jefferson county and lived on the STUBBS farm just northeast of the city. The moved to Fairfield in 1903 where they have since lived.

Mrs. STUBBS was the mother of three children, all of whom have preceded her in death. Twin daughters Carrie and Estelle died in infancy, wile (sic. while) a son, Rex, died in 1904. Three half-brothers, Jas. C. and Warrent B STUBBS of St. Louis, and Jesse R. STUBBS of Kansas City, and her husband survive her.

Mr. (sic. Mrs.) STUBBS last sickness has extended over several months. Last fall she went to Iowa City to consult specialists there and it was thought desirable for her to remain there for treatment, but in spite of all that could be done for her she continued to fail, and was brought to her home here a few days before she passed away.

The body was laid away in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery, among a mass of flowers, which were tributes from a host of friends who hold her in loving memory.
