Died.

P. F. CUNNINGHAM, father of Mrs. C. D. LEGGETT, died at his home, south of the Presbyterian church, Sabbath about 5 a.m. He was in his 67th year; a native of Tennessee; came to Iowa with his parents in 1853, locating in Centerville, where he had lived until last fall, when they moved to this city. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He leaves a wife and two daughters to mourn their loss. The funeral occurs this afternoon from the family residence at 3:00 o'clock, conducted by Dr. J. F. Magill.

Death of P. F. CUNNINGHAM

P. F. CUNNINGHAM (sic. Pliny Fisk CUNNINGHAM), who removed to this city from Centerville last summer, died at his home on South Main street Sunday morning at 5 o'clock. He had been in ill health for several months, a sufferer from dilatation of the heart, and for eight weeks or more had been confined to his room. Mr. CUNNINGHAM was a native of Marshall county, Tenn., and was in the sixty-seventh year of his age. He came to Iowa in 1853 and lived in Davis county for many years, removing afterwards to Ottumwa and thence to Centerville. He was married in Davis county to Miss Etta SHOEMAKER (sic. Marietta SHOEMAKER), who survives him. Three children are also living in this city, Mrs. Chas. D. LEGGETT (sic. Beatrice), Miss May (sic. Ida May) and Miss Florence CUNNINGHAM, the latter a teacher in the Centerville schools. Mr. CUNNINGHAM had been a member of the Presbyterian church for many years, and was also a Mason and a Knight Templar. He was a man of excellent character and most exemplary habits. Funeral services were held at the family residence yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. J. F. Magill and Rev. I. O. Kemble conducting the exercises. The remains were interred with masonic honors in the Evergreen cemetery.

Pliny F. CUNNINGHAM, after a protracted illness died at his home on South Main street, Sunday, March 4, 1900.

Deceased was born in Marshall county, Tenn., June 25, 1833, and lived in Centerville, until 1899, when he moved to Fairfield. He was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church and also a member of the Masonic lodge in which he had attained the rank of Knight Templar.

Mr. CUNNINGHAM was a pioneer settler of Iowa, hence, leaves a large circle of friends to sympathize with the bereaved family, a wife and three daughters, Mrs. C. D. LEGGETT and Misses May and Florence CUNNINGHAM, of Centerville. The funeral was held from the family residence, conducted by Rev. Dr. Magill, yesterday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. Interment in the Evergreen cemetery under the auspices of the Knight Templars.

Comenting on the death of P. F. CUNNINGHAM the Centerville Citizen yesterday says: Mr. and Mrs. CUNNINGHAM lived here for many years and had a multitude of friends in this city who will be grieved to hear this sad news. They moved to Fairfield in August. Besides Mrs. CUNNINGHAM, three children, May, Florence and Mrs. C. D. LEGGETT, survive, one child, a son, being dead. Miss Florence, who teaches grade One and Two in the Central school in this city, was called to Fairfield last week and was at the bedside of her father when he died. Mrs. LEGGETT resides in Fairfield.

Pleatman, all of Centerville, attended the CUNNINGHAM funeral services in this city yesterday. All came as representatives of the Centerville Masonic fraternity, the deceased having been a prominent member of that order. ...
