Ruth JOHNSON dies at 59

Services for Ruth M. JOHNSON, 59, Rural Route 2, who died Friday evening in her home, will be Monday at 1:30 at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery and visitation will be at the Raymond Funeral Home Sunday from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be given to the First Lutheran Church.

Mrs. JOHNSON was born Nov. 9, 1926, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Harry and Irene DAWNS RINGLESPACH (sic. should be DOWNS RINGELSPACH). She grew up and went to school in Jefferson County and spent most of her life in this community. She married Lawrence JOHNSON June 22, 1950, in First Lutheran Church.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church and Richwoods Willing Workers. She was the clerk and bookkeeper for Rock Island Railroad and served 20 years as secretary of First Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Jim Meeks JOHNSON of Indianapolis and Ken JOHNSON of Fairfield; two daughters, Mary STEELE of Lockridge and Carol JOHNSON of Fairfield; a sister, Doris JOHNSON of Fairfield; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
