Violet A. LEWIS

Violet A. LEWIS, 92, of Donnellson Manor Care Center at Donnellson (sic. Lee County, Iowa), former Fairfield resident, died at 4:20 a.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 10, 1994, at Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Elzey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to First Augustana Lutheran Church at Lockridge.

Mrs. LEWIS was born Nov. 2, 1901, at Mediapolis, the daughter of Charles and Mary JOHNSON EKLUND. She grew up in the Mediapolis community until the family moved to Jefferson County when she was 12. She attended school in Mediapolis and rural Jefferson County. On Sept. 12, 1923, she married William W. LEWIS. He died July 13, 1992. The lived in Glasgow from 1940 until moving to Fairfield in 1974. In 1985, they moved to Donnellson. She was a member of First Augustana Lutheran Church, and the Keep Young Club in Fairfield.

Surviving are two daughters; Doris Jeanne FRUEH of Donnellson and Marguerite Louise UNDERWOOD of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
