MARNER, Jason -- Jason MARNER, 22, of Harrisonburg, Va., formerly of Brighton, died Thursday, July 1, 2010, following an accident on his motorcycle.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Iowa Mennonite School, with the Rev. Tim Detweiler officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lower Deer Creek Cemetery.

Visitation began at 1 p.m. today at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the family present from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A second visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at Iowa Mennonite School, with family present from 2-4 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Iowa Mennonite School, Crook Creek Christian Camp or to his family to help with his college expenses.

Mr. MARNER was born July 22, 1987, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Stan and Joann ROTH MARNER.

Mr. MARNER graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 2006 and Hesston College in Hesston, Kan., in 2008 with an associate's degree in aviation. He then graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va., in May 2010 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He began full-time work June 28 at Dynamic Aviation, where he had served as an intern for the past two years. He had hoped to do missionary aviation.

Mr. MARNER was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in Wayland.

Survivors include his parents of Brighton; two brothers, David MARNER of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Christopher MARNER of Washington; and grandparents, Gerald MARNER and Virginia ROTH, both of Kalona.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Esther MARNER and Merton ROTH.
