MINSTER, Ozzie A. -- Ozzie A. MINSTER, 81, of Schertz, Texas, formerly of Fairfield, died at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Northeast Methodist Hospital in Live Oak, Texas.

A memorial service was held June 5 at Haas-Thielen Funeral Home. Burial, with military rites, was in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery in Burlington.

Mr. MINSTER was born Jan. 2, 1928, the son of Arthur and Margaret MULLENIX MINSTER. He married Ruth Grace LOVELL Sept. 10, 1950. She died May 20, 2002.

Mr. MINSTER worked as a guard at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown.

He served as a seaman in the United States Navy during World War II from 1945-1950.

Survivors include one son, Don MINSTER of Texas; one daughter, Julie BARKER of Schertz; three grandchildren; and one brother, Bill MINSTER.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters.
