LANKFORD, Robert Dale -- Robert Dale LANKFORD, 51, of Brighton, died Friday, June 18, 2010.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Larry Brown and Dean Elmore officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 303 W. Stroup, Apt. D-1, Richland 52585.

Mr. LANKFORD was born Oct. 26, 1958, in Iowa City, the son of Bud and Donna Irene SHARP LANKFORD. He married Lana ROYER in June 1978 in Mount Pleasant. They divorced. He married Dian HAWKINS Nov. 10, 1992, and they divorced.

Mr. LANKFORD grew up in Richland and attended Richland Elementary School. He graduated from Pekin High School in 1977. He moved to Brighton about 25 years ago and was a self-employed graphic artist working for various companies.

Mr. LANKFORD was a member of Church of God in Washington.

His passion was art for the Lord.

Survivors include one son, Robert Lyle LANKFORD of Florida; his mother of Richland; three brothers, Larry LANKFORD of Libertyville, Jerry LANKFORD of Richland and Charles LANKFORD of Washington, Iowa; and two sisters, Carla LANKFORD of Richland and Kathy WALKER of Lockridge.

His father preceded him in death.
