DUNBAR, Maurine -- Maurine DUNBAR, 93, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Keota, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mount Pleasant.

Arrangements are in the care of Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant.

DUNBAR, Maurine Ethel -- Maurine Ethel DUNBAR, 93, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Keota and Fairfield, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mount Pleasant.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will be in Keota Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 2-4 p.m.

A memorial has been established.

Mrs. DUNBAR was born May 6, 1917, in Keota, the daughter of Henry Fulton and Clara Ann BAUMERT SHEETS. She married Dale Burton DUNBAR Aug. 22, 1938. He died June 3, 1993.

Mrs. DUNBAR graduated from Keota High School in 1935. The DUNBARs farmed in the Fairfield area for 20 years. Upon retirement, they moved to Mount Pleasant. Mrs. DUNBAR was a homemaker.

She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. DUNBAR played the piano and gave piano lessons.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis DUNBAR and wife Betty of Muscatine, Lyle DUNBAR and wife Ann of Solana Beach, Calif., and John DUNBAR and wife Angie of Fairfield; two daughters, Judith BOWER and husband Ben of Mount Pleasant and Linda APPLEBEE of Clovis, Calif.; one sister, Maxine DURST of Red Oak; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harold SHEETS; and one sister, Lucille STEWART.
