TAYLOR, Melody A. -- Melody A. TAYLOR, 47, of Lockridge, died today, Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Arrangements are pending at Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.

TAYLOR, Melody A. -- Melody A. TAYLOR, 47, of Lockridge, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Nathan Clark officiating.

A memorial has been established. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

Mrs. TAYLOR was born June 27, 1962, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of John H. and Janet J. DONAHUE SKIPTON. She married Victor LeRoy TAYLOR Sept. 26, 1988, in Mount Pleasant. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. TAYLOR had worked at Mapleleaf Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant as a certified nurse's aide.

She enjoyed sewing, making crafts, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. She also liked horses.

Survivors include one son, Christopher Nelson TAYLOR of Lockridge; her mother of Mount Pleasant; three brothers, Jeff SKIPTON of Missouri, Randy SKIPTON of Mount Pleasant and Richard SKIPTON of Illinois; and three sisters, Peggy RICH of North Carolina, Cheryl STONE of Idaho and Nancy GRABER of Westside.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father.
