COHENOUR, Larry G. -- Larry G. COHENOUR, 69, of Brighton, died at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Maplewood Manor Care Center in Keota.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

COHENOUR, Larry G. -- Larry G. COHENOUR, 69, of Brighton, died at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Maplewood Manor Care Center in Keota.

A funeral wil be at 1 p.m Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Wilbur Morfitt officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.

Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of memorials, the family asks that friends commit a random act of kindness, as was Mr. COHENOUR's custom.

Mr. COHENOUR was born May 4, 1941, in Burlington, the son of Rex and Dorothy MORRIS COHENOUR.

Mr. COHENOUR spent his early childhood in Burlington and moved to the Douds area as a youth. He graduated from Douds High School in 1959 and then worked at American Chain & Cable in Fairfield for a short time. After serving four years in the United States Air Force, he returned to American Chain & Cable until 1982. He also had worked at Standard of Beaverdale in Fairfield, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown and Milan Surplus in Milan, Ill. He was then self-employed as an entrepreneur in various enterprises. Mr. COHENOUR lived in Fairfield and Richland before moving to Brighton in 1998.

He was a car and gun enthusiast.

Survivors include one son, Christopher McHUGH and wife Kristine of Keota; one daughter, Phaedra COHENOUR of Fairfield; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Nancy KING of Wichita Falls, Texas, Janet BREEDING of Newalla, Okla., and Nellie FISHER of Bettendorf.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
