Death Takes B. MANLEY

Mrs. Andrew MANLEY, 59, died about 7:10 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital.

The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home where arrangements for services are being made.

Bessie MANLEY was born Sept. 22, 1915, in Fairfield, the daughter of Hollis (sic. William Hollis FLEAGLE) and Iona FLEAGLE. Her marriage to Andrew MANLEY took place Feb. 21, 1942, at Memphis, Mo. The family home is at 909 E. Jefferson.

Mrs. MANLEY was a lifelong resident of the Fairfield Community and a member of the Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, also two sons, Jack R. and Vernon A., both of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. GRIEO, LeSueur, Minn., and Mrs. Andrea F. WILLIAMS, Packwood; also eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Note: Bessie FLEAGLE MANLEY was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa in 2nd.212.

Admin. note: Bessie was married to and divorced from, twice, Jack BAILEY in the 1930s; son Jack and daughter Dorothy were children of Jack and Bessie, and may have been adopted by her second husband. Son Vernon is not in the 1940 census with Bessie and may be a son of Andrew.
