HARRIS, John David -- John David HARRIS, 54, of Fairfield, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lake Darling State Park Lodge, with Frosty VanVoorst officiating.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the HARRIS family and sent to 602 W. Burlington Ave., Upper Apt., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. HARRIS was born March 18, 1956, in Flint, Mich., the son of Lymon and Ruby ARNOLD HARRIS. He married Barb DOTY, and they divorced. He married Pam GREVE, and they divorced.

Mr. HARRIS served in the United States Navy and retired in 1998. He also served in the 224th Engineer Battalion of the Iowa Army National Guard. Mr. HARRIS worked as a layout technician at Fairfield Aluminum Castings Co. for 30 years.

Mr. HARRIS enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley.

Survivors include five daughters, Shauna Marie McWILLIAMS of Kansas City, Mo., Jennifer Bliss DOOLEY and Holly Renee HARRIS, both of Fairfield, Cara Michelle HARRIS of Des Moines and Malary Lynn HARRIS of New York City, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
