Ella McCUMBER rites slated Saturday

Services for Ella Marie McCUMBER, 65, who died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday (sic. July 9, 1986) at the New London Care Center, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Higdon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home.

Mrs. McCUMBER was born Sept. 17, 1920 in St. David, Ill., the daughter of John Herman and Edith Pearl SALTS TOMPKINS. She married G.L. McCUMBER Sept. 15, 1942. A homemaker, she had lived most of her life in Fairfield and was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Fairfield.

Surviving are a son, Bill McCUMBER of Florissant, Mo.; a daughter, Jesica (sic. spelling ?) BARTOW of Milford, Conn.; a brother, Orville TOMPKINS of Planterville, Calif., and a sister, Irene BATES of Texas.

Note: Buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa in 2nd.054. Her nephew, William Russell SALTS is buried in this same plot along with his first wife, Ethel Mae SPRY SALTS and her parents Luther and Mary Ann SPRY. Ella is literally buried between those two families in the same row.
