THOMAS, Ilah M. -- Ilah M. THOMAS, 96, of Milton, died at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren's hospice department in Keosauqua.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Justin DeVries officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 4-6 p.m.
Memorials to Milton Christian Church or Maple Grove Cemetery may be left the funeral home (sic) or may be mailed to the family at 14658 252nd St., Milton 52570.
Mrs. THOMAS was born March 9, 1914, near Azen, Mo., the daughter of Wesley and May NELSON KERR. She married Paul E. THOMAS April 6, 1935, in Cantril.
Mrs. THOMAS graduated from Gorin, Mo., high school and taught rural school at Upton, Mo. She and her husband farmed in the Cantril-Milton area and retired to Milton in 1993. Mrs. THOMAS took an active role on the farm.
She had been a member of the Cantril Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star and had organized the Happy Hour rural neighborhood club south of Cantril.
Survivors include her husband and one brother, Bill KERR of Farmington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John KERR.
