RIGGS, Jerry Randall -- Jerry Randall RIGGS was born April 3, 1935 in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Roscoe and Oshia (WOOD) RIGGS. He graduated from Fairfield High School. Herry was united in marriage to Ruth FRESCOLN on June 10, 1956 in Batavia, Iowa. Jerry owned and operated Quincy Tire and Service Center in Ottumwa, before retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. The couple lived in Fairfield and Ottumwa before moving to High Amana in 2002. Jerry was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg, KAABA Shrine, Scottish Rite Freemasonry, Clinton Lodge 15 AF & AM Freemasonry of Fairfield and the Amana Heritage Society. Jerry enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling, camping, hunting (especially mushrooms) and woodworking. Jerry died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at his home at the age of 75 years.

Jerry is survived by his wife Ruth of High Amana; a daughter: Andrea (Lanny) HALDY of Amana; two grandsons: Zachary NEUMANN of Sacramento, CA and Benjamin NEUMANN of Amana; a twin brother: James (Rose) RIGGS of Norwalk; three sisters: Ruth WILSON of Rogers, Arkansas, Charlotte KLISE of Wakarusa, Kansas and Shirley (Gene) FREEMAN of Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Harry RIGGS and Wayne RIGGS and a sister: Vera WHITMORE.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg with Pastor James Parks officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Burial will be Saturday at 1:30 pm at the Batavia Cemetery. Memorials are for the St. Paul United Methodist Church, Amana Heritage Society, Essence of Life Hospice in Amana or the American Heart Association.
