Roy ALLEN, 83, Taken In Death

Roy D. ALLEN, 83, retired Jefferson county farmer, died suddenly Sunday noon at his home five miles south of Fairfield on Highway 1.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home. The Rev. J. Roland Crandall will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

ALLEN was born July 3, 1880 at Birmingham, the son of William S. and Ella McCORMICK ALLEN. His father served as Iowa secretary of state from 1913 to 1919.

ALLEN was married to Duff Maude JAMESON March 20, 1907. He is survived by his wife. ALLEN had made his home south of Fairfield for the past 40 years. One sister preceded him in death.
