July 6, 1964OBIT: "Charles O. ROBERTS, 84, 206 N B Street, lifetime resident of Jefferson County, died Monday at 7 p.m. at the Jefferson Hospital. He had been seriously ill for the past 12 days. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 P.M. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. John E. McCracken. Burial will be in Richland Friends cemetery. ROBERTS had been a resident of Fairfield since 1945. He was born Aug. 17, 1879 at Veo, the son of William and Martha CARDWELL ROBERTS. He was married to Eunice DAY Feb. 24, 1904. She died May 20, 1909. On June 8, 1932 he married to Lulu LIGHTFOOT, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pearl STAMPER, Canton, Mo.; one son Raymond R. ROBERTS, Batavia; one stepson, W.W. LIGHTFOOT, Oskaloosa; several grandchildren, 27 great grand-children and one great grandchild. One brother and two sisters are deceased. ROBERTS was a member of the Woolson Friends church." (He was also married to Grace DYER in 1910 and Selma JACOBSON about 1915)
