Lucile Irene EMMACK, 95, of 807 West Taylor Ave., Fairfield, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2005, at the Nelson Nursing Home.
She was born on March 8, 1910, near Salina, the daughter of Alvin and Maud LARSON HOLLANDER.
She went to school in Lockridge and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1928. Lucile taught rural school for 5 years.
She married Kenneth EMMACK on March 4, 1933, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Kenneth died on January 27, 1969.
She lived her adult life in Center township north of Fairfield. She later worked in the kitchen at the Jefferson County Hospital.
Lucile was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Philathea group and Deborah Circle, volunteer member of the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary, Keep Young Club and Happy Day Club.
Deceased family members include her husband; parents; a grandson, Wayne; two sisters and two brothers: Margaret DIERS, Marie SWENSON, Glenn HOLLANDER and Clair HOLLANDER.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda RITZ and husband Jack of Fairfield; one granddaughter, Pamela MIER and husband Mike of Ottumwa; two great-grandsons, Phillip and Conner MIER; and one sister, Dorothy QUACKENBUSH of California.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Raymond Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established to the van fund at Nelson Nursing Home or to the First United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
