COUNTRYMAN, Ramona -- Ramond Irene COUNTRYMAN, 69, of Birmingham, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Nelson Nursing Home.

The funeral is scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, with the Rev. Len Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Building Blocks of Birmingham, the Birmingham Fire Department or SunnyBrook Assisted Living.

Mrs. COUNTRYMAN was born Sept. 22, 1935, in Stockport, the daughter of Delbert and Ruth HARLAN HUDSON. She married Harold COUNTRYMAN Jan. 26, 1957, in Fairfield.

She grew up in the Stockport and Salem communities and attended school in Stockport. She graduated from Pella High School in 1953. She lived in Stockport, Salem, Pella and Fairfield.

Mrs. COUNTRYMAN worked as a telephone operator for United Telephone Company and their successors for 26 years.

She also worked at Universal Producing Company, Roadway Transportation, both in Fairfield, and Farmers' Store in Birmingham.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Nadine COUNTRYMAN and Rhonda COUNTRYMAN, both of Fairfield; one son, Jim COUNTRYMAN of Birmingham; one brother, John HUDSON of East St. Louis, Ill.; one sister, Helen MENDENHALL of Mount Plesasant; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Florence Mae BROBSTON.
