CARTER, Clara Bernice -- Clara Bernice CARTER, 93, of Fairfield, died in her sleep at about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at home.

A Celebration of Life will be from 7:30-9 p.m. Friday at Fellowship Hall, 51 N. Court St. Mrs. CARTER's ashes will be buried next to her husband in Albany, Mo.

Mrs. CARTER was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Hamlin, Texas. She married Myrl D. CARTER.

She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, cooking and playing cards and Scrabble with family and friends.

Survivors include three sons, Bruce and wife Cheryl of Fairfield, Harley and wife Mary of Fairfield and Robert and wife Beverly of Springdale, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
