CONKLIN, Richard "Dick" -- Richard "Dick" CONKLIN, 82, of Wickenburg, AZ and formerly of Richland, Ia passed to a quiet place on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 with his wife and daughters by his side. A Celebration of Life was held in Wickenburg with graveside services to be held in Kalona at a later date. Dick was the son of Frank and Edith (DAWSON) CONKLIN of Kalona.

Richard was a barber in Kalona and Richland Iowa for 43 years. He was a member of the Elks Club, Masonic Lodge, and the Lions Club. As an avid golfer, Dick was a member of the Fairfield, Iowa Golf and Country Club and the Wickenburg, Az. Country Club. He has a passion for golf, stories, jokes, dance, world travel and life.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Hazel, two daughters Deborah (Patrick) KINNEY of Oxford, Ia. and Sally (Alberto) SALAZAR of Whidbey Island, Wa., and three incredible grandchildren, David, Sarah, and Eric who loved and admired him every day. His positive encouragement and outlook on life will remain an example to all of us. GO HAWKS!!!!

CONKLIN, Richard 'Dick' -- Richard "Dick" CONKLIN, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009.

A celebration of life service was held in Wickenburg, Ariz. Mr. CONKLIN was an organ donor and was cremated according to his wishes.

A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Inurnment will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona.

Mr. CONKLIN was born in Kalona, the son of Frank and Edith DAWSON CONKLIN.

Mr. CONKLIN was a barber in Richland for 43 years.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, Fairfield Golf & Country Club and Wickenburg Country Club.

Mr. CONKLIN enjoyed golf, stories, song, dance, life and world travel.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Hazel June of Wickenburg, Ariz.; two daughters, Deborah KINNEY and husband Patrick of Oxford and Sally SALAZAR and husband Albert of Whidbey Island, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
