M. Maxine ANGSTEAD

M. Maxine ANGSTEAD, 80, of 1983 185th St., died at 8:37 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Raymond Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established to First Lutheran Church or to a charity to be designated later by the family.

Mrs. ANGSTEAD was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Fairfield, the daughter of Frank and Mary S. KOONTZ BOOTH. She married Donald K. ANGSTEAD June 7, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo.

She was a lifetime resident of the Fairfield community. She attended school at Center No. 5, No. 6, Center No. 8 and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1942.

A homemaker, she also worked as a cook for several years at Jefferson County Hospital.

Mrs. ANGSTEAD was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Maple Leaf Club and was a girls 4-H leader and member of the 4-H youth committee. She also was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Survivors inlcude her husband; two sons, James W. ANGSTEAD and wife Barb of Bellavista, Ark., and Kenneth Lee ANGSTEAD and wife Patsy of Unionville, Mo.; two daughters, Mary Carolyn LARSON and husband Marvin of Fairfield and Julane FRITZ and husband Dennis of Indianola; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Christine Ruth McINTIRE; one sister, Marie MILLER; and two brothers, John Carl BOOTH and William "Bud" BOOTH.
