PARCELL, Clifford -- Clifford PARCELL, 89, of Fairfield, died today, Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at SunnyBrook Assisted Living Center in Fairfield.
Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

PARCELL, Clifford Eugene -- Clifford Eugene PARCELL, age 89, of Fairfield, Ia., Passed away Monday Dec. 28, 2009 at SunnyBrook Assisted Living in Fairfield, Ia.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday December 31, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Bauer officiating. Burial will be in Clay Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday Dec. 31, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Iowa Hospice or SunnyBrook Assisted Living sent to: 1185 Pine Ave., Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Mr. PARCELL was born March 23, 1920 in Washington County, Iowa to John Robert and Elizabeth ASH PARCELL. Mr. PARCELL grew up in the Rubio/Brighton/Richland areas and attended Black Hawk County School in Clay Township. He married Wanda Mae MILLER April 22, 1951 in Washington, Iowa. He farmed several years on the farm where he was born before moving to the Fairfield and Birmingham areas. He drove a taxi from 1963-1975, worked part-time as a guard for Rockwell and Louden plants, and was a meter reader in the Birmingham area for 18 years. After retirement, he enjoyed plowing gardens with his AC tractor and mowing yards for his friends and neighbors, gardening, riding his bike and painting pictures.
Survivors include one son John (Rebecca) PARCELL of North Liberty, three step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren, two nieces, Janet (David) JONES and Gertrude (Robert) WRIGHT, all of Fairfield, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Homer, Clayton, and William; and twin sisters who died in infancy.
