SAUER, Arlo L. -- Arlo L. SAUER, 84, of Hedrick, died at 10:17 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Dar Eckley officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Keokuk County or Hospice House in Ottumwa.

Mr. SAUER was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Farson, the son of Harry and Anna HAGEN SAUER. He married Deloris BURNS Feb. 3, 1946.

Mr. SAUER was a 1942 graduate of Farson High School. He and his wife farmed north of Farson and retired in 1987.

Mr. SAUER was a life-long member of Farson Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three children, John SAUER of Cedar Rapids, Wanda BAGBY of Fairfield and Andy SAUER of Hedrick; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Jean WHITE of Oskaloosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Victor Lyle SAUER.
