STILL, Mildred G. -- Mildred G. STILL, 90, of Keosauqua, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center Hospice in Keosauqua.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Larry Shipley officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery, southwest of Bonaparte.
Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials to Van Buren Good Samaritan Center Hospice may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 300 Second St., Keosauqua 52565.
Mrs. STILL was born March 7, 1919, near Bonaparte, the daughter of Will and Reta STORY HOUSE. She married Archie Dale STILL Aug. 20, 1945, in Fort Madison. He died March 29, 1981.
Mrs. STILL graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1937 and lived in the Bonaparte area until moving to Keosauqua in 1996. She taught in Mount Sterling and rural schools during World War II. She also had worked at the Bonaparte Glove Factory and had been an Avon representative. In May 1975, she and her daughter opened M&M Fabric Shop in rural Bonaparte. They operated the business for 20 years.
Mrs. STILL had been a member of Bonaparte Methodist Church, Cut-Up Quilt Club, Bonaparte Saddle Club, Sunset Bowling League and Square Benders square dance club.
She enjoyed square dancing, bowling, attending horse shows, gardening, cooking, sewing and quilting.
Survivors include one daughter, Melinda Jane STILL of Keosauqua; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmie Dale STILL; and one brother, Dale HOUSE.
