LONG-SANDAGE, Diana Darlene -- Diana Darlene LONG-SANDAGE, 62, of Birmingham, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A private family service will be held at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. LONG-SANDAGE was born May 27, 1947, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Edward F. and Marilyn WANDLING LONG. She married Gary SANDAGE Nov. 28, 1970. The couple later divorced.

Mrs. LONG-SANDAGE was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She was employed by GE in the assembly department for many years. She then became a homemaker. Later, while living in Wisconsin, she worked for Emerson Electric in Sturgeon Bay. After she moved back to Iowa, she worked for HCM Plastics in Fairfield before her retirement.

Mrs. LONG-SANDAGE enjoyed dancing, traveling, listening to country music, reading, taking long walks and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Robin CESAR of Danville; two grandchildren; her mother of Mount Pleasant; one brother, Dean LONG of Mount Pleasant; and one sister, Jerry BIRDSALL of Loveland, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her father.
