TERRY, Neva Elizabeth BOUSE -- Neva Elizabeth BOUSE TERRY, 87, of Boise, Idaho, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009.
Mrs. TERRY was born in 1922 in Dunbar, Neb., the daughter of Orville and Cora HARRY BOUSE. She married Buster K. "Buck" TERRY. He preceded her in death.
A child of the Great Depression, Mrs. TERRY overcame polio and learned to walk again. She continued her education, and under her editorial leadership, the small, rural school paper won the award as best high school newspsper in the state of Nebraska. She went on to University of Nebraska School of Nursing and graduated at the top of her class. She also served as class vice president of the nursing school. While her husband fought in World War II, Mrs. TERRY became head nurse of Sacramento General Hospital's Neonatal Department. After the war, she and her husband moved to Boise and spent winters in Phoenix after retiring.
Mrs. TERRY sang alto in the choir at First Presbyterian church in Boise. She played in the "dirty-dozen" golfing gang.
Mrs. TERRY enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, stitching wall art, reading, sipping Reisling and watching hummingbirds.
Survivors include three children, Colleen BELL of Fairfield, Tim TERRY of Boise and Tina TERRY of Bellevue, Wash.; two grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Jett MCCANDLESS and Kerry BELL; and five sisters, Hazel PRESLEY, Wanda MEYERS, Rene SCHACKTEBECK, Betty GUTT and Doris LEMAN.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye TREMBLEY and Lena MacNEILL, and two brothers, Charles and Jack BOUSE.
