Mrs. W. A. PEDRICK received word today of the death of her brother, Purl CUSHMAN which occurred this morning in a hospital at Detroit. The body will arrive in this city Saturday morning at 6:45 oclock (sic) and short private services will be held at 9 oclock (sic) from the PEDRICK home, 301 East Jefferson street in charge of Rev. R.H. Polly. Interment will be in the Fairfield Abbey.
He is survived by three children, Mrs. A. A. ANDERSON of Des Moines, Ray CUSHMAN of Des Moines who has been with her father through his illness and Mrs. C. A. MITCHELL of River Rouge, Mich.

Private funeral services were held this morning for Purl CUSHMAN who passed away Wednesday morning in Detroit from the home of his sister, Mrs. W. A. PEDRICK, 301 East Jefferson street, in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly. Interment was made in the Fairfield Abbey.
[Admin note: Purl was born March 15, 1865 according to his Death Certificate.]

RKT's notes: The Fairfield Abbey Mausoleum was closed in the mid-1960s and those individuals that were not claimed by family were reinterred in the 2nd Addition at Evergreen Cemetery. The individual in the above obituary was one of those who were reinterred.Present burial plot at Evergreen Cemetery:
SDof25-004Note: Purl's mother, Charlotte LUMSDON, is buried in the same plot and shares the same headstone as Purl. Her burial took place in the Fairfield Abbey Mausoleum in 1924 and she was reinterred in this plot along with Purl under the same circumstances described above.
Note: the obituary for his mother used the name "Pearl CUSHMAN" in reference to Purl. The name Purl is what is on the headstone, however.
