Funeral Services Will Be Held Saturday Afternoon At Two O'clockJ. W. FRYMAN passed away at 6 oclock this morning at the Jefferson County hospital after an illness of three years duration. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 oclock at the First Methodist church in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith. Interment will be in Fairfield Abbey.
Mr. FRYMAN was 78 years 10 months and 15 days old and has been a resident of this city for the past twenty years, moving here from Pleasant Plain. He is survived by one brother, Isaac, with whom he made his home. Two cousins W. D. GARMOE and Mrs. C. D. McPEEK, reside here.

At First Methodist Church, With Interment In Fairfield AbbeyFRuneral (sic) services for J. W. FRYMAN were held Saturday afternoon at the First Methodist church in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith. Interment was in Fairfield abbey.
The pall bearers were: C. E. GARMOE, C. B. McPEEK, George Bonnett, J. C. Blackford, W. C. Jones, Charles Hisel. A quartet composed of Marie Scott, Mrs. William Neibert Paul Coleson, Harry Schneider, sang "Abide With Me" and "There Is No Night There". Mrs. Frank Pierson played the accompaniment.
Relatives from a distance were unable to attend because of illness.

John Wesley FRYMAN, son of Jacob and Catherine FRYMAN was born in Fitton county, Pa., April 8th, 1849 and passed away Feb. 23, 1928, at 6 oclock in the Jefferson County hospital. Mr. FRYMAN belonged to a family of 5 children, 4 boys. One sister, Mary passed away one year ago in December. One brother less than 1 year of age and one brother at the age of 12 years. Isaac remains to mourn the loss of his only brother and the last of the family who has the sympathy of a host of relatives and friends. Wesley has 12 or 14 cousins in different states and towns.
Wesley FRYMAN came to Iowa with his parents in the year of 1854, when but 5 years of age and has always made his home near Fairfield. He first lived at Richwoods and from there to Walnut and from Walnut to Pleasant Plain and in 1908 he purchased the farm on South Main, which has been his home until two years ago. He then moved to the next house south of his farm. Mr. FRYMAN was a good Christian man and ready to go when the last trump was sounded had his house in order. Even selected the text for his funeral. Wesley had many friends at his old home in Pleasant Plain as well as Fairfield and new ones in Mississippi where he has gone many times and when he went to the hospital was planning to go to Mississippi and spend the summer. He has been in poor health for 15 years, gradually going down and always cheerful and a good word for every thing good and especially his friends and neighbors. The funeral was conducted at the First Methodist church on Saturday, February 25 at 2 oclock by his pastor, Rev. U. S. smith. He was laid to rest in the Abby (sic). Mr. FRYMAN has been a member of the Methodist church about 56 years and 20 years ago when coming to Fairfield reunited with Methodist church of Fairfield and later was elected to a member of the official board to which he belonged at his death. Always faithful until failing health prevented him from his privilege of attending.

RKT note: The Fairfield Abbey Mausoleum was closed in the mid-1960s and those individuals that were not claimed by family were reinterred in the 2nd Addition at Evergreen Cemetery. The individual in the above obituary was one of those who were reinterred.Present burial plot at Evergreen Cemetery:
