Former Fairfield resident succumbs in Davenport hospital.
Mrs. Mary Alice WRIGHT, 83, former Fairfield resident, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Davenport, Tuesday morning about 8:35 o'clock. She had suffered a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Murray Mortuary in Fairfield in charge of Rev. S.P. Williamson, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will arrive in Fairfield at 12:13 a.m. Thursday.
Mrs. WRIGHT was born September 23, 1857, in Knox county, Ohio. When a young girl, she moved with her family to Washington county, Iowa and lived there for two years. In 1885 she moved to Fairfield, and remained here until moving to Davenport to make her home six years ago. She was married to Jasper WRIGHT on November 27, 1877, in Washington.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. R.W. FRANKLIN of Davenport, and Harry WRIGHT of Fairfield; two sister, Mrs. Lizzie IVERS of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. E.S. MCCORKEL of Centralia, Wash.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her husband preceded her in death January 12, 1926.

Note: Maiden name was SAUNDERS.Note: There is supposed to be a headstone for Mary Alice WRIGHT in her plot, but this contributor has not been able to locate it yet. The plot is in the public ground rows (Row 8 Sp. 33) of Evergreen Cemetery and there are many unmarked graves, and headstones have been lost over the years. Will still try to locate it if possible.
