MILLICAN, Marilyn C. -- Marilyn C. MILLICAN, 84, of Ottumwa died at 4:59 a.m. October 17, 2009 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

She was born January 6, 1925 in Van Buren County, Iowa to Harley and Emma JOHNSON CHRISTY. She married Gerald "Jerry" MILLICAN April 5, 1953. He preceded her in death February 29, 2004.

A graduate of Bonaparte High School, she was a resident of Ottumwa most of her life.

Marilyn and her husband, Jerry, were generous donors to Martensdale-St. Mary's and Harmony High Schools establishing endowed scholarships.

She enjoyed boating at Lake Rathbun with her husband and friends. Marilyn was an avid golfer.

Surviving are two brothers-in-law, Robert MILLICAN of Des Moines and Albert ALEXANDER of Burkburnett, TX; nieces and nephews, Tom (Sherry) CHRISTY of Bonaporte, Doug (Judy) ALEXANDER of Fairfield, Pam ALEXANDER and Todd MILLICAN both of Wichita Falls, TX, John (Laura) ALEXANDER of Rockport, TX and Becky (Jack) STINE of Burkburnett, TX; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Ruth CHRISTY and a great nephew, Daniel CHRISTY.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with Rev. Dr. Judith Bunyi officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Indianola.

Visitation will begin at 10 am. Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Golf Course.
