PUTNAM, Elmer Franklin -- Elmer Franklin PUTNAM Jr., 90, of Keosauqua, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at River Hills Village in Keokuk.
No service is planned.
Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. PUTNAM was born June 3, 1919, in What Cheer, the son of Elmer Franklin PUTNAM Sr. He married Vesta Jean LATCHAM. She died in April of 2001.
Mr. PUTNAM was a veteran of the United States Army and was a recipient of two Purple Hearts and three Bronze Stars.
He had owned and operated The Chicken House restaurant in Kalona for more than 25 years.
Mr. PUTNAM enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed baseball and was a New York Yankees fan.
Survivors include two grandsons, Strider PUTNAM and wife Tonya of Keosauqua and Jackson THOMAS of Story City; four granddaughters, Ashley PUTNAM of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mara PUTNAM of Madison, Wis., Jaymi PUTNAM of Oakville and Josey PUTNAM of Oakville and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeff PUTNAM; one great-granddaughter; and seven siblings.
