HADLEY, Raymond C. -- Raymond C. HADLEY, 83, of Richland, died late Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

HADLEY, Raymond C. -- Raymond C. HADLEY, 82, of Richland, died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Richland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kim Gates officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the family present from 5:30-7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Richland United Methodist Church, Richland Public Library or Richland Volunteer First Responders and may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 506 N. Oak St., Richland 52585. The family also suggests doing a good deed for a friend in Mr. HADLEY's memory.

Mr. HADLEY was born Dec. 25, 1926, on the family farm near Richland, the son of Von R. and Helen M. BYERS HADLEY. He married Virginia LONG June 4, 1954, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Mr. HADLEY grew up in the Richland area and attended Richland schools. He was an auto salesman for Frank Mayer's Hudson Garage and Bob Allen Chevrolet in Richland, Samuelson Ford in Fairfield and Wade Ford in Wellman. He also owned and operated Hadley Chevrolet in Richland. He retired in 1996. Mr. HADLEY had been in failing health prior to his death.

Mr. HADLEY was a member of Richland United Methodist Church, Richland Lions Club and Commercial Club. He was a supporter of Richland activities and had served on the Richland City Council.

Survivors include his wife and one daughter, Dixie DYER and husband Dan of Streamwood, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rosamond SASSEEN and Irene ALLEN.
