COEN, Paul E. -- Paul E. COEN, 88, formerly of Fairfield, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, from a prolonged illness.

A graveside memorial and interment will be Friday in Denver, Colo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Penrose Library, University of Denver, 2150 E. Evans, Denver, CO 80208, or to Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

Mr. COEN was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Fairifeld, the son of Orville and Bessie COEN. He married Louise FOREMAN.

Mr. COEN graduated from Fairfield High School in 1938. He then joined the United States Army Air Corps and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

After being released from the military, Mr. COEN and his wife moved to Denver. Colo., in 1946. He obtained a bachelor's degree and master's degree from the University of Denver. He was involved in real estate development.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela McGUIRE and husband James of Silverthorne, Colo.; one son, Stephen COEN and wife Alice of Kodiak, Alaska; and two sisters, Charlotte LENHART and Sue AUSTIN, both of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one daughter, Patricia; his parents; and one sister, Jane SORENSEN.
