ELLIS, H. Wesley -- H. Wesley ELLIS, 75, of Douds, died at 9:18 a.m. today, Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center Hospice in Keosauqua.

ELLIS, Harold Wesley -- Harold Wesley ELLIS, 75, of Douds, died at 9:18 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center Hospice in Keosauqua.

A service was held this morning at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Memorials to Bethel Worship Center may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 215 Bryan Road, Ottumwa 52501.

Mr. ELLIS was born July 13, 1934, in Ottumwa, the son of Harry and Nettie NASON ELLIS.

Mr. ELLIS worked at Barker Equipment in Keosauqua and farmed the family farm southwest of Douds. He also transported members of the Amish community.

He was active in Bethel Worship Center in rural Douds.

Survivors include one son, Bryan ELLIS of Monterrey, Calif., and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
