SNOOK, Phyllis Jean -- Phyllis Jean SNOOK, 65, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Washington Care Center in Washington, Iowa.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Lloyd Osborn officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Douds.

Family visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jefferson County Health Center Auxiliary and may be sent to 1007 Grand Park Drive, Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. SNOOK was born Sept. 15, 1943, in Sewal, the daughter of Earnest W. and Mildred L. ROLLINS OSBORN. She married Glenn W. SNOOK Nov. 29, 1968, in Danville, Ill. He died May 30, 1982.

Mrs. SNOOK graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a factory employee for seven years with J & B Plastics and American Chain and Cable.

Mrs. SNOOK was affiliated with the Pentecostal church.

Survivors include three children, Wendy JEWELL and husband LeRoy of Iowa City, Melinda CLARK and husband Troy of Fairfield and David FISHEL and wife Pamela of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven siblings, Lois NICKLESON of Birmingham, Duain OSBORN of Keota, Shirley VAN AKEN of Belton, Mo., Floyd OSBORN of Rock Falls, Ill., Lloyd OSBORN of Ottumwa, Delbert OSBORN of Fairfield and Sharon THOMAS of Ottumwa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother, one step-daughter and one stepgrandson.
