ADAM, Wanda Marie -- Wanda Marie ADAM, 89, of 205 W. Briggs Ave., died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A graveside funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Spencer Cemetery, near Stockport, with the Rev. Phil Barker officiating.
Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials have been established to First Lutheran Church and CALU Apartements in Fairfield.
Mrs. ADAM was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Stockport, the daughter of John C. and Hazelle Julia FICHEL SCHULZ. She married Lincoln BARTUSEK in 1942. She later married Willard "Pete" ADAM in 1955.
Mrs. ADAM grew up in the Stockport community and graduated from Stockport High School in 1937. She attended Ottumwa Beauty Academy and graduated in 1938. She was a beautician and homemaker. She lived in Ottumwa and Farson before moving to Altamonte Springs, Fla., where she lived for 17 years. She had resided most recently at CALU Apartments.
Mrs. ADAM was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fairfield.
She helped with The Lord's Cupboard and coordinated social gatherings at CALU.
Survivors include one son, William Carroll BARTUSEK and wife Carolyn of Peoria, Ill.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Joan WOLFE of Danville, Melba MORROW of Memphis, Mo., Shirley CRISWELL of El Paso, Texas, and Karen EIGHMEY of Toledo, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; two sisters, Vashti EMBRIE and Barbara PETTIJOHN; and two brothers, Herman SCHULZ and Donald D. SCHULZ.
