A.C. PAGEL, 80, CALLED TODAY' RITES FRIDAY

Well Known Fairfield Tailor Summoned Following Stroke

Adolph C. PAGEL, past 80 years of age, who suffered a stroke ten days ago, died at his home 200 East Adams street today at 7:30 a.m.

Mr. PAGEL, who was a retired tailor, was born in Hanover, Germany, Dec. 3, 1854, and came to this country in 1889. He moved to Fairfield in 1890, where he has since been a resident. He is survived by his wife and a large circle of friends.

He retired from the active trade about three years ago, prior to that time he had established a shop in his home, and had previously worked for several firms in Fairfield. He was a member of the First M.E. church.

The funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral home in charge of Dr. U.S. Smith. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Transcriber note: The obituary does not name Mr. PAGEL's spouses. They were:

Married to Gincy V CRENSHAW on October 6, 1892 in Fairfield, Iowa. She died in 1932. No children.

Married to Patti FRAME THORNBERRY MENEELY on January 29, 1934. (Patti had been widowed twice prior to this marriage).

Adolph PAGEL is buried with his first wife Gincy, while Patti is with her first husband Harry THORNBERRY and her parents.

All are buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa.
