McCOMB, Mary M. -- Mary M. McCOMB, 75, of rural Bonaparte, died at 5:30 a.m. today, Thursday, July 30, 2009, at home.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

McCOMB, Mary M. -- Mary M. McCOMB, 75, of rural Bonaparte, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at home.

A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Keosauqua United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Elsa Lawry officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery, north of Bonaparte.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will be present from 3-5 p.m.

Memorials to Keosauqua United Methodist Women or Keosauqua Lions Club may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 18539 Route W40, Bonaparte 52620.

Mrs. McCOMB was born Jan. 30, 1934, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Michael J. and Myrtle PRICE GORMAN. She married John H. McCOMB Aug. 4, 1956, in St. Louis.

Mrs. McCOMB graduated from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis and attended University of Missouri-Columbia. She worked as a secretary with Harlan Bartholomew & Associates in St. Louis, a city planning company, prior to her marriage. She had since been a homemaker. Mrs. McCOMB and her husband lived in several locations while he served in the United States Navy. They also lived in Indianapolis, Ind., for many years and moved to Keosauqua in 1993. They moved to the family farm north of Bonaparte in 1996.

Mrs. McCOMB was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Town and Country Garden Club and Iowa Rose Society. She had been a member of P.E.O. Chapter I of Keosauqua.

Survivors include her husband and two daughters, Jennifer McCOMB of Richardson, Texas, and Terrie McCOMB of Aliso Viejo, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edward GORMAN.
