SKAGGS, Kriss D. -- Kriss D. SKAGGS, 55, of Birmingham, died at 7:11 a.m. today, Monday, July 6, 2009, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.
Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

SKAGGS, Kriss D. -- Kriss D. SKAGGS, 55, of Birmingham, died at 7:11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, in the Jefferson County Health Center emergency room in Fairfield.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
Visitation, with the family, will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials to Birmingham Fire Department, Birmingham Lions Club or Van Buren County 4-H may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 10181 Jasmine, Ave., Birmingham 52535.
Mr. SKAGGS was born Jan. 29, 1954, in Keosauqua, the son of Wilson "Bill" and Anna Belle CLARK SKAGGS. He married Patsy Deanne COFFIN Dec. 15, 1984. They later divorced. He married Ann SHANNAN May 15, 1993, in Birmingham.
Mr. SKAGGS grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1972. He owned and operated A & K Feed Service and was a full-time farmer.
Mr. SKAGGS was active in his community, serving on the park and recreation board, homecoming committee, Lions Club and fire department. He supported 4-H activities and school sports.
Mr. SKAGGS was a fan of the Cardinals and Hawkeyes. He played men's fast pitch softball for many years.
He was an organ and tissue donor.
Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Justin COFFIN of Oskaloosa; his mother of Birmingham; and one sister, Karen CRAWFORD of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
