AHEE, Thelma Roberteen BEATY -- Thelma Roberteen BEATY AHEE, 81, of Unionville, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Knedler Funeral Home in Blakesburg. Interment will be in Unionville Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church or Unionville American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. AHEE was born Sept. 11, 1927, near Iconium, the daughter of Lloyd and Marguarite BEATY. She married Don AHEE July 29, 1944, in Norfolk, Va.

Mrs. AHEE attended Moravia schools through 10th grade and graduated from Marshalltown High School. She farmed with her husband in Appanoose county and was a cook in Blakesburg restaurants.

Mrs. AHEE was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and Unionville American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, David AHEE and wife Lora of Calhoun, La.; two daughters, Janet MORRIS of Fairfield and Donna AHEE and husband Allan of Solon; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathyryn BUTLER of Marshalltown; and one brother, Sam BEATY of Creston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Mike and Rick; one sister, Carol FARR; and one brother, Dennis BEATY.
