WALLACE, Donald E. -- Donald E. WALLACE, 70, of Lockridge, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home.

WALLACE, Donald Emmett -- Donald Emmett WALLACE, 70, of Lockridge, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as the result of injuries from a car accident Friday, June 12.

A joint funeral for Shirley and Don WALLACE will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Interment will be at Miller Chapel Cemetery in rural Keosauqua.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. WALLACE was born April 12, 1939, in Van Buren County, the son of Charles and Pauline WRIGHT WALLACE. He married Shirley CLARK July 17, 1962, at First Christian Church in Ottumwa.

Mr. WALLACE grew up in the Van Buren County, Ottumwa and Brighton areas. He graduated from Van Buren schools. He worked in a crane factory in Washington for 20 years. He then worked for Jerry and Rich Goodwin moving houses.

Mr. WALLACE served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958, serving in Germany.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Jr. of Lockridge, Steve and wife Stephanie of Richland and Ron of Lockridge; two daughters, Connie WALLACE of Brighton and Sheila HAWKINS and husband Scott of Brighton; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Larry WALLACE of Ottumwa; and two sisters, Shirley PATTERSON of Ottumwa and Marilyn MINEART of Agency.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Charlie; and one brother, John WALLACE.
