LEDGER, Roberta -- Roberta LEDGER, 70, of Brighton, died Monday, May 11, 2009, at home following a brief illness.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Saints Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung and the Rev. Robert Streigel officiating. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the church, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Memorials to St. Joseph Cemetery Association may be left at the church or may be mailed to the family at 1258 Spruce Ave., Brighton 52540.

Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Brighton.

Mrs. LEDGER was born June 7, 1938, in Fort Madison, the daughter of Robert T. and Hilda M. KROGMEIER FEDLER. She married Ernest LEDGER Nov. 21, 1959, in Fort Madison. He died Oct. 26, 2004.

Mrs. LEDGER grew up in the Fort Madison area and graduated from Fort Madison Aquinas High School in 1956. She worked for a short time at Sheaffer Pen. She was a farm wife and worked many long hours with her husband.

Mrs. LEDGER was a member of Saints Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain. She also was a member of Altar and Rosary Society, holding many posts throughout the years.

Survivors include three sons, Chuck LEDGER of Fairfield, Jeff LEDGER and wife Dawn of Crawfordsville and Kurt LEDGER and wife Kim of Brighton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Joann FRITZ of Carrollton, Texas.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
