SNETSELAAR, Katherine H. -- Katherine H. SNETSELAAR, 89, of Fairfield, died this morning, Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

SNETSELAAR, Katherine H. -- Katherine H. SNETSELAAR, 89, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Words of comfort will be offered by William Cummings. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Prairie City.

Open visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Fairfield Public Library or Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua. Cards and memorials may be sent to 1202 First St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. SNETSELAAR was born April 12, 1919, near Monroe, the daughter of Clarence and Carrie BIRKENHOLTZ FLEMING. She married Henry SNETSELAAR June 24, 1939, in Colfax. He died Oct. 3, 1973.

Mrs. SNETSELAAR was a farm homemaker. She and her husband farmed in Jasper, Marion and Lucas counties.

Survivors include three children, Beverly BOECKER and husband Marvin of Keosauqua, Helen BOGENHOLM of Gilberts, Ill., and Bonnie WALDRON and husband William of Fairfield; 10 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Arlene VAN BAALE of Newton.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Brian BOGENHOLM, and one sister, Viola VAN BAALE.
