Garnett P. PRATT

Garnett P. PRATT, 89, of Bonaparte, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Donnellson Health Center.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

PRATT, Garnett P. -- Garnett P. PRATT, 89, of Bonaparte, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Donnellson Health Center.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bonaparte Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Caston and the Rev. Larry Wallingford officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family present from 5-7 p.m.

A memorial will be designated at a later date. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 209 Fifth St., Bonaparte 52620.

Mrs. PRATT was born April 22, 1919, in Bonaparte, the daughter of Leslie and Faye KERR HAINLINE. She married William Lloyd PRATT April 12, 1941, in Memphis, Mo.

Mrs. PRATT graduated from Bonaparte High School and lived most of her life in Bonaparte. She worked at Bonaparte Glove Factory before marrying. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband at Pratt's Tavern.

Mrs. PRATT was an Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Harmony High School Rockets fan. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Donna HALL and husband Ron of Iowa City; three sons, William PRATT and wife Marie of Pueblo, Colo., John PRATT of Bonaparte and Harold "Gene" PRATT and wife Bethany of Bonaparte; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marcy NELSON of Lovell, Wyo., and Agnes GRAYBEAL of Rising Sun, Md.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bruce HAINLINE; and one sister, Madge DIEPHUIS.
